Frequently asked questions about artwork.....

What is camera-ready artwork and do I need it?

Photo & silkscreened processes must have camera ready art in order for a clear, clean, final image on the product. Silkscreened camera ready art is always a solid black and white design or text, with crisp (not jagged or grayscaled) edges. It is printed clearly from a laser printer (not ink-jet printer) on plain white paper, not faxed or photo-copied. Photo process camera ready art is a full color .tif or .eps file with a bleed. In most cases, our art department produces the camera ready artwork for the factory. Because of our experience with the different products and processes, it is easier and faster for us to produce the final camera ready art using your logo or theme idea.

What if I don't have a camera-ready logo?

If you do not have your logo on computer disc or on a glossy logo sheet, any good, solid image will do. Check with your letterhead print shop or in-house graphics department. A dark imprint on light paper, like a letterhead, business card or magazine ad can be scanned by us, cleaned up digitally and, in most cases, result in a clean imprint. Some additional art costs may result. Also, we have access to most major local and national corporate, non-profit, government and military logos in our stock art files.

What are your requirements for digital art?

We prefer a PC file saved in one of the following formats:

Coreldraw X3 or lower (.cdr extension)

Adobe Photoshop (.psd extension)

also: .tif, .eps, or .jpg files

Low resolution files with .jpg or .gif extensions, or Powerpoint files are

for presentation only and are not suitable for imprint.

Convert all text to outlines or curves or you must include the font files

with the design file.

If files are compressed, use Winzip (.zip).
